The MoT is a well-know routine for many British motor vehicle owners. However, for some exceptional categories of vehicles, it exists an exemption from MoT, that has to be declared through the v112.

What is a MoT ?
The MoT is a test through which a motor vehicle is tested, and has to fit in the governmental road safety and environmental standards. This test has to be made by the vehicle's owner at the beginning when the third year of registration is over, or when the last MoT is going to be 3-years old.
Which vehicles are exempt from MoT ?
The v112 form is filled by vehicle owners declaring an exemption from MoT. The v112 exemption concerns unusual vehicles, such as : motor tractors, track-laying vehicles, works trucks, tram, articulated vehicle that is not a lorry or bus, hackney carriage licensed by Transport for London, goods vehicle powered by electricity registered before 1 March 2015 (for Great-Britain only), etc. For a full list of exempted vehicles, you should check the UK government website.
Can I declare MoT exemption online?
To declare a MoT exemption, you have to download the v112 online on our website. This pdf version of v112 is printable. Once printed, you will have to fill it, and send it to the DVLA services (address : DVLA Swansea, SA99 1DD).
