What is winter sport insurance?

Winter sport insurance is one of the most commonly purchased sport insurance in the UK. Indeed, winter sports are dangerous and many accidents happen every year on the ski slopes.

There are two ways you can buy winter sport insurance:

  • Either through a dedicated sport insurance specialist if you are planning to ski in your home country for instance; or
  • By taking out travel insurance with winter sport optional extra if you'd like to enjoy french or Italian alps for instance.

How much does sport insurance cost?

If you are a basketball player only wanting £1M public liability cover for amateur practice, you can pay as cheap a £1 per month or from £2 for winter skiing.

Premiums will increase if you decide to get Professional Indemnity, Personal Accident, and Sport Equipment Cover.

Sport insurance premium will depend on different criteria such as:

  • the sport you'd like to get covered for
