How to keep my personalised number plate?
Every vehicle in the UK must have a unique registration number displayed clearly at the front and back of the vehicle.
A personalised or private plate lets you add your own touch such as your initials, date of birth or job description to an otherwise boring set of numbers and letters.
If you have bought a private number plate and you'd like to keep it on your new vehicle, use the V317 DVLA number plate transfer or retention form.
Where to send my v317 form?
Once you have properly completed your v317 form appliction, you must send it - along with all the requested document - to the following post address : DVLA Personalised Registrations, Swansea SA99 1DS.
Do not forget to enclose £80 fee you owe the DVLA for transferring your vehicle registration number.
