The V765 official form

Good to know
This form is the official document to register your vehicle.
What is the v765 form used for ?
In some cases, you will have to register your vehicle under its original registration number. That is when you will have to issue a v765 form to the DVLA. You will have to do this within two particular cases. First, if your vehicle has never been officially registered to the DVLA services since 1983 : it can be out of use since date, or having been exported and then re-imported. Second, if it has been registered under another age registration number.
Can I find a v765 form online ?
It has been a few years now that the v765 form is proposed online by the DVLA services. HelloSafe proposes you a download version, that can edit and print the way you want. The download of our v765 form is totally free, and you can repeat as much as you need. Then you will have to print it and send it by post to the DVLA, at the following address : DVLA Swansea SA99 1BN
Do I need another document to register my vehicle under its original registration number?
First, in complement of the v765 form, the DVLA will ask you evidence of your vehicle registered before 1983. An old log book (see our "v65 form" page) will perfectly work. If it is the first licensing for this vehicle, you'll have to bring along a V55/5 application so that you can claim your original registration number.
