Who can claim for maternity allowance?
You can claim for Maternity Allowance if you are expecting a baby and you are:
- employed but you are not entitled to get Statutory Maternity Pay, or
- self-employed, or
- not employed, or
- an agency worker.
What documents to send with your MA1 form?
You will need to send, together with your Maternity Allowance Claim Form:
- the proof that you are not entitled to get Statutory Maternity Pay if you are employed (SMP1 form)
- the baby's due date certificate
- your payslips.
