Tesco Bank black-box insurance

Apart from the Standard Car Insurance, Tesco Bank offers Black Box Insurance that is a fully comprehensive. The black box uses telematics to analyze driving habits such as speed, braking, cornering and acceleration and creates a report which determines the price of the premium you’ll be charged during renewals. The better your driving score is, the lower prices you’ll get on your premium.

In addition to its ability to track driving habits, the black box can sense strong impact on the car. In the event of an accident, it will send an Accident Alert to Tesco who will then call you to make sure everything’s okay.

Tesco Bank business car insurance

Tesco Bank Car Insurance has not stated anywhere if you could use your vehicle for business use. We would advise you to contact them directly and enquire about this before taking out an insurance policy with them if you’re looking to use your vehicle to go to and from work or for business travel.

How to cancel your car insurance at Tesco Bank?

You can always cancel your car insurance policy at any time. However, some fees may apply especially if you cancel it after the 14 cooling-off period after your contract's anniversary date.

Since car insurance is a legal requirement, Tesco Bank as well as other insurers will renew your policy automatically at the end of the policy period without any notification from your side. However, Tesco Bank has the obligation to send you a renewal notice within 7 to 21 days before your contract comes to an end. You will therefore have 14 days - the cooling off period - to cancel your policy at reduced cancellation fees.

For the same reason, if you cancel your car insurance policy, you must sign up to a new one immediately. Find out more on car insurance legal requirement.
