It is no surprise that LV is the Insurance Company of the Year for 2019, all services provided were explained in a detailed format, the website is customer friendly, and the prices are well within range. There is a wide range of covers up to five that LV provides and additional options can be added to it as deemed fit by the customer. Also, LV has a high ranking both on TrustPilot and Reevoo. Apart from the lack of a chatbox, there is little or nothing else missing. It is comes highly recommended as a car insurance company to try out.

Breakdown cover

During a breakdown, LV provides the following services:

  • A 46-minute average response time so you would not be left stranded for so long
  • 24/7 customer car service
  • Cover for anyone driving the nominated vehicle at that point.

There are about 5 Breakdown covers provided by LV but the most comprehensive of all that offers services such as roadside repair, home assistance, alternative means of transportation or accommodation, breakdown cover in the UK comes at a £142 per year cost.

Motor legal protection

For £25.99 per year, the motor legal expenses cover provided by LV protects you from the potential costs of legal action if you're involved in a car accident. A legal cover of up to £100,000 is provided and this can be used to help you recover any uninsured losses, like personal injury compensation, loss of earnings or hire car costs while yours is being fixed. However, as a driver, you would not be covered for claims that don't have more than 50% chance of success.

Personal injury policy

LV offers a £10,000 fee in terms of compensation for the personal accident cover and this is under the comprehensive car insurance. This option will protect you, your partner or a named driver on the policy if you or they suffer a serious injury while travelling in, or getting into or out of your car. For an additional payment of £19.90 per year, you can increase your personal accident cover to £100,000.

Liverpool Victoria is one of the leading insurance companies in the UK and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as well as the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).

They offer Single and Annual Multi Trip Policies across 2 levels of cover: Essential and Premier. Their Premier level of cover has a 5 star rating on Defaqto.

Unfortunately, aside from the main insurance covers and the optional additional covers such as the Winter Sports and Cruise covers, LV doesn't any other type of travel insurance such as Backpacker or Longstay.
